Dreaming of spring

So just when I thought it couldn't snow anymore...it did.  I think it was around four or five inches but I had already hoped that there would be no more until next year.  Anywho I have been working on spring/summer dresses for AJ and here are a couple of them.  The first one is not a great shot but I thought it shows the contrast between my dreaming of spring and the reality outside our doors.
This is a better shot.  The pattern is a free pattern from Oliver + S Patterns and is called the Popover sundress.  I made one last year too and I think the pattern goes up to 6 or 7 years old.

This dress is from the blog Made by Rae and is the enlarge 2-3T size of the Itty Bitty Baby dress.  I think its going to be a little big on AJ but she always surprises me by how fast she grows.
And lastly these are some of the artisan loaves I've made with my new bread book.
They are just as good to eat as they look!  We like to eat them with olive oil, balsalmic vinegar and crushed up spices.  Yum!
Oh yeah, and I have to mention that I won the contest on my lovely sister's blog Cotton Pickin Fun.  I can't wait to get my hands on my prize!

  3. Elizabeth, I love reading your blog and seeing all the precious cute stuff you have made. The dresses for AJ are darlin' and she will look so cute in them. I enjoy seeing the crafts such as sweaters refurbished, fabric crafts, etc. and your pictures are great. You do a very good job with the blog. Loved the pics of AJ at the sink and on her head. Can't wait to come to KC soon. Love , Mama

  4. {PS} I forgot to write about the above posting. Daddy has gone to bed or he would be reading it right now. He will get a laugh about the caller tuning. AS I RECALL - you were not as enthusiastic about the caller tuning then as you seem to be now. "Mama, please ask Daddy to stop tuning turkey callers so I can go to sleep". Ha. Those were the days. Actually he was tuning one tonight to send to you Cousin Bob in Charlotte. Talk about a blast(squawk) from the past. Put my teeth on edge. Love, M

  5. Oh I remember how he liked to tune them late into the night. I remember stomping on the floor and yelling "Daddy stop!" He still claims he put us to sleep with them...ha! But I won't ever forget learning to use a mouth caller and chewing that stuff that they sold at the conventions...what was that stuff anyway??? I'm glad you like looking at the blog, its mostly for y'all anyway. Its been a great way to keep up with Holly. Love to you too and so thrilled and counting down the weeks till y'all get here!
